BGHV Announces Dates for Queen City Pride 2015

Ready your crowns, Poughkeepsie! Queen City Pride is coming back to the “Queen City of the Hudson” for another year of big gay fun for the whole community this June 12-14.

Queen City Pride (formerly known as Pride Preview Weekend) is Big Gay Hudson Valley’s annual pride celebration, hosted in Poughkeepsie, NY. We’re thrilled to announce that dates have been booked and events are in development for this summer.

[FRIDAY June 12th] Pink-eepsie Barbecue Bash

Warm nights and the smell of the grill can only mean one thing – summer! Kick off Queen City Pride weekend with Big Gay Hudson Valley and the crew from Mill House Brewing Company at our open-air Barbecue Bash. We’ll have loads of delicious eats, locally-brewed beer, games and live music – all from the heart of the Queen City. Help us paint the town pink by wearing Queen City Pride’s signature color.

[SATURDAY June 13th] Half Moon “Black + White” Ball

The Chance Theater, Downtown Poughkeepsie
Four hundred years ago Henry Hudson sailed up the river that now bares his name in a ship called the Half Moon. In the spirit of his ship’s name, we’re encouraging everyone to wear their most outlandish and fabulous black and/or white outfits for a night of dancing under the disco ball in The Chance’s historic art deco-inspired vaudeville theater. With multiple on-stage DJ’s, multiple on-fire go-go dancers, and a burlesque act or two thrown into the mix, the only question left is “what are you going to wear?”

[SUNDAY June 14th] Queen City Pride Community Picnic

BGHV’s classic summer BYO picnic is back for lucky year number seven. Returning to the beautiful grounds of the historic Locust Grove Estate, this event is truly meant for everyone (dogs & kids welcome!) We’ll have live entertainment, community groups, Drag Bingo by Trixie Starr and more gay fun in the sun than you can shake a stick at.
