BGHV has got big plans brewing for 2011, and to share more of our big gay backyard with you, we’re looking to hire freelance writers from across the region to expand our editorial content.

If you enjoy writing and have been thinking about wanting to get paid for your work, or if you are a proven freelance writer that is looking for some new gigs, BigGayHudsonValley.com wants to hear from you.

We’re looking for people with all sorts of perspectives: including girls who like girls, guys who like guys, and even a few of our straight allies and fruit flies.

Editorial opportunities for freelance writers cover the gamut from general interest subjects, lifestyle, and arts & leisure to dining & entertaining, political activism, and personal wellness.

We’re also looking for localvore ‘experts’ to write about their particular towns for BGHV’s upcoming CityGuide section. If you consider yourself to be the authority on everything gay in any of the following communities, we’d like your help in ‘writing the book’ on your town.

To start, we’ll be covering the following areas:
* Poughkeepsie
* Beacon/Newburgh
* Cold Spring
* New Paltz
* Kingston
* Hudson/Catskill
* Rhinebeck/Red Hook
* Accord/Olive/Stone Ridge
* Rosendale/High Falls

BGHV is offering $75 for each 300 – 400 word general interest article and up to $100 for each CityGuide feature.

Interested in being considered for a part on the BigGayHudsonValley editorial team? Please drop us a line at info@BigGayHudsonValley.com, and please be sure to tell us a little about yourself, where you live, and why you’d like to be a part of BGHV.

We look forward to hearing from you!
