With the holidays now in full swing, we hope you are all out there having a Gay ‘Ol Time! With a fresh six inches of snow on the ground, it certainly now LOOKS like the holidays!

If you are still out there shopping, we hope you check out BGHV’s first annual 12 Gays of Christmas for some great gay, and gay-friendly shopping ideas right here in our backyard. Chances are if you are reading this, you are already on our e-mail blast list. Saturday December 12th

December 12th –  20th, visitors are welcome to view Locust Grove’s historic mansion, an Italianate villa designed by Alexander Jackson Davis, decorated in seasonal splendor.  This holiday season, step back in time and re-live the romance of Christmas past as they feature the classic Christmas tale ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas, a Hudson Valley legend that has enchanted families for generations with “visions of sugar plums”. Recent studies suggests that the original teller of this perennial favorite may have been Locust Grove’s first resident, Henry Livingston, Jr., and so they’ve created a fantasy world to match!  $9/adult, $5/child (under 12)

Radicalesbian Photo Exhibition Opening @ LGBTQ Community Center @ 4pm

Ellen Shumsky, radical lesbian photographer, has just released her new book: Portrait of a Decade: 1968-1978, and she will be present at the Hudson Valley LGBTQ Community Center on Sunday Dec. 13 at 4 PM for a reception and book signing.

NY Marriage Equality Sunset Vigil @ Senator Morahan’s Office, Nanuet @ 3p – 5p
There will be a vigil to protest Sen. Thomas Morahan’s vote against Marriage Equality in the New York State Senate. The vigil will take place outside of Sen. Morahan’s offices on New Clarkstown Road at Airport Executive Park in Nanuet (north of Route 59).
