BGHV Weekend Feb 4thHey all – we’re a week before Valentine’s and huddling in for the biggest sports day of the year, so happy Superbowl Sunday.

If you’re yet undecided what to do with your honey this V-Day, tomorrow – Friday – is your last chance to enter to win two free tickets to the Hearts for ARCS Valentine’s Ball in White Plains on Saturday Feb 13th!  Log on before the drawing at 5:00p and don’t miss out.  What better way to charm your sweetie than a night at the region’s best Valentine’s party?

While in the registering spirit, the doors close this Friday, Feb 5th on signing up for Marriage Equality New York’s (MENY) “Marriage Equality Day” in Albany.  This day of breakout sessions with legislators will be held on February 23rd and will give you a chance to explain to them 0ne-on-one how the issues of inequality affect you.  MENY will provide coordinated regional transportation and lunch for each registrant along with a fact sheet and leave behind information for each legislator.  This is an amazingly personal way to get involved with the fight for marriage equality – get in there and let ’em have it!

This week’s biggest area news actually comes out of Kingston as the Hudson Valley LGBTQ Center announced the appointment of its first ever gay male President.  Lance Ringel, the former VP, has taken over the reigns and will be on BGHV next week for an exclusive scoop on his plans and vision for the Center’s future.  Tune in to find out what they’ve got in store!

As we ramp up for the spring season, plenty of events are in store and with them will come plenty of giveaways and up-to-the-minute updates.  We wouldn’t want you to miss out on any of these, so if you haven’t already, head over to Facebook and join our Fan Page to stay a ‘mo in the know.  Have a great weekend!
