Rainbow UmbrellasHappy 40th Anniversary of Stonewall Everyone!

Yes, that’s right – this year marks the 40th Anniversary of the Stonewall Rebellion, so come on out and celebrate Gay Pride with your “family” and friends in New York City this Sunday!

If you are looking to March in the Parade, come join Patrick and I by marching alongside the Marriage Equality New York float on Sunday. Why are we Marching with MENY? Well, we just learned that we’ll be getting married in Amsterdam on Saturday, August 1st, and MENY has asked us to ride on their float this Sunday! It’s a lot story, but in a nutshell; Amsterdam is helping promote marriage equality here in New York, and they were looking for couples from the Empire State to wed in Amsterdam this summer. We entered their contest, and we just found out that we won on Monday! Come help us celebrate by marching with the Marriage Equality New York contingency!

Still no word yet on Marriage Equality here in New York, but that said, there is still time to call not only your Senator – but also Governor Paterson – and demand that a vote on the Marriage Equality bill be brought to the floor before the end of the current Senate Session. Not sure who to call? All the information you need is right here.

We’ve come a long way since Stonewall, but now is not the time to stop – pick up the phone, send an e-mail, or pick -up a protest sign – and demand equal rights now!

For all of you that signed up for the Bannerman’s Island Cruise on Saturday: THANK YOU! The cruise is sold out, and we’ll see you on the dock starting at 1pm – we set sail for the castle at 1:30pm from Beacon!
