BGHV Weekend March 18thDid you know that March is LGBT Health Month? The New York State LGBT Health and Human Service Network, has named March 2010 as the first annual “New York LGBT Health Month”. To help promote health and wellness for the LGBTQ Community,  Westchester’s LOFT Gay and Lesbian Community Center is celebrating with a list of “31 Ways in 31 Days” to be healthier.

If you are in New York City this weekend, be sure to stop by the GLBT Expo at the Javits Center to say hello to us. BGHV will be there along with Dutchess and Ulster County Tourism (Booth #308) to promote our region as a destination for the gay community.  Download our coupon and save on admission at the door!

Every Wednesday Night

Gay Night @ Babycake’s Café, Poughkeepsie @ 9pm
We felt bad that this event usually gets left off the blast because it happens the night that we write BGHV Weekend, so we’re letting you know about it so that you can plan for next Wednesday night. A HUGE crowd heads out for drinks Mid-Week so come on outr to B’Cakes and get your drink on with all the local homos.



Thursday March 18th

Sexual Health Clinic @ HV LGBTQ Center @ 2p – 5p
Free, confidential, and open to the public. The Sexual Health Clinic takes place on the third Thursday, every other month. Walk-ins welcome. 20-minute HIV oral screening, no needles. Safer sex counseling, free condoms and dental dams.

Men’s Group Social @ HVLGBTQ Center @ 7p
The Men’s Group meets every Thursday at 7 PM on the first floor of the Center. 1st, 2nd, and 4th Thursdays are group discussions. Topics are determined by participants. The 3rd and 5th Thursdays are films/socials/special events.

Dodgeball Try-Outs @ All Sport in Fishkill @ 7:30p
Fishkill All Sport is starting up an adult dodgeball league, one of the organizers is trying to form a gay men’s team. It’s easy, it’s active, it’s fun, and it’s a great excuse to get together! Voices of Diversity @ HV LGBTQ Center @ 12p
Voices of Diversity is a social and support group created to bring together the Hudson Valley’s black, Latino and all people of color who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, & transgender. Voices of Diversity meets from 12pm-2pm on the third Saturday of every month at the Center.
