Hey hey! Welcome to another big gay weekend! During this week’s mini deep freeze, BGHV was busy reformatting our Community Calendar. We’ve switched over to using Google Calendar to keep you guys more connected in an easier to follow format. You can now add the BGHV calendar to your own Google Calendar and stay connected to us while you’re on the go. We’re also following the calendars of some local community groups – if you’d like us to add your calendar, drop us a line!
We were also thrilled this week to announce our first ever Big Gay Wellness Day, presented by Cross Valley Health & Medicine, on Saturday May 22nd from 11a to 3p. BGHV and Cross Valley want you to find a local doctor at a local practice who understands you as a member of our LGBTQ community. We want you to find someone that you can talk to candidly about whatever’s going on. If you RSVP for the event on Facebook and then attend on May 22nd, you’ll be entered into a drawing to win a bunch of prizes, including tickets to see Cirque du Soleil down in NYC! Come by and see us for a day of free screenings and one-on-one visits with Cross Valley’s expert staff. After all, your health is a terrible thing to waste.
Can you feel the momentum for Marriage Equality building in New York State? We can and we want you to join in the fight for equality! Several of our friends in the community, in partnership with the Empire State Pride Agenda, are hosting an informal “friendraiser” this Saturday May 15th in Tivoli to introduce you to the efforts of this amazing group and help you to learn more about our fight for marriage equality. Drop by and see them and get involved in shaping the future of New York State.
