Every June, the LGBT community and our allies gather across the country to celebrate just how fabulous it is being fabulous – and the Hudson Valley is no exception. This year you can follow the rainbow brick road of festivals up & down the river and experience all that our region has to offer.

Pride Along the Hudson Kickoff Party: June 3rd

Join BGHV and other local LGBTQ community groups at Shadows on the Hudson in Poughkeepsie on Friday June 3rd for a sneak peek at all of this year’s Gay Pride happenings. This free party will feature live entertainment, drinks by Stoli and plenty of big gay excitement.

 

Hudson Valley Pride March & Festival: June 4th + 5th

Presented by the Hudson Valley LGBTQ Community Center, this year’s events kick off with a Pride Party at Novella’s Catering on Saturday June 4th featuring drag, live performances, dancing and a very special guest. Then on Sunday June 5th the capstone Pride March & Festival returns to its cozy home in the village of New Paltz with fabulous Grand Marshall Kate Pierson!

The Lower Hudson Valley’s LGBTQ Community Center, the LOFT, will host their free, family-friendly Pride celebration with food, vendors and live entertainment.

 

Queen City Pride Weekend: June 10th – 12th

Big Gay Hudson Valley’s 8th annual celebration features a weekend full of events spread throughout Poughkeepsie – the “Queen City of the Hudson”. Kick the weekend off with Queenpin Bowling at the newly renovated Spins Bowl in Poughkeepsie on Friday night. Spend Saturday in the sun at our Queen-Sized Tea Dance at Union Tavern in Downtown Poughkeepsie with great beats, cheap drinks and some fabulous drag performances. Laugh it up on Saturday night at Broadway legend Jackie Hoffman Kvetches @ The CIA‘s Marriott Pavilion. Sunday’s summer classic Queen City Pride Community Picnic – a BYO picnic held in the gardens of the historic Locust Grove Estate – will be back with vintage vinyl DJs, Match Game with Trixie, Best Picnicscape awards, dancing and much more. Check out our blog for more info.

The Pride Center of the Capital Region is inviting everyone to Rally & Revel at this year’s Pride celebration. Their Washington Park celebration in Downtown Albany historically draws huge crowds with blockbuster entertainment so just imagine what they’ve got in store for this year! Gay Pride Rockland: June 12th

Presented by Volunteer Counseling Services (VCS), this annual weekend festival is returning to downtown Nyack with their annual “Rockland County Pride Sunday”, which is free to attend and will feature family-friendly activites, food, vendors, public art, and more. OutHudson: June 17th – 19th

The newly formed OutHudson will be producing a weekend of events in the City of Hudson including a boat cruise, parade, beer blast, tea dance, performance from Hedda Lettuce and more. The complete calendar and event details are on their Facebook page.

 

NYC Pride: June 28th

The Heritage of Pride foundation once again hosts one of the nation’s largest Pride Parade & Festivals in the heart of Manhattan. Parades, rallies, festivals, and after parties pop up across the city so visit their website for the list of official NYC Pride events.
