Now is the time. A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Enter the National Equality March Idol auditions to compete against others for the coveted speaking platform at the October National Equality March in Washington DC. This contest is for those who have the gift of speech and a passionate heart. We are looking for what inspired you to choose to attend the March and why such a movement is important to you.
The speech should be no more than 3 minutes, less than 100MB and emailed to us at equalityidol@nationalequalitymarch.com via http://www.yousendit.com no later than 5:00 PST on September 17, 2009.
A sub-committee of 5 volunteers will select the top five videos and we will post them on our YouTube and Facebook Page by September 19, 2009.
Voting will take place over next week and end at 5:00 p.m. PT on September 26, 2009. Winning will be based on the highest YouTube ratings combined with the highest numbers of “thumbs up” from our Facebook page. The process is completely transparent for all too see. In the unlikely event of a tie, the sub-committee would make the final decision.
The two winners will be notified by email and their videos placed on our website, YouTube and Facebook channel. There are numerous ways to create your video and we suggest you make it as high quality as possible. Details on how long and when you will speak at the rally will come later as we finalize our plans.
The Prize:
The lucky winners will receive a round trip airline ticket based on the time line that works for you. These tickets have been donated to the National Equality March campaign. Weekend accommodations have not been donated at this time.
