Engage Film Series presents: The Freedom to Marry

Celebrate PRIDE month on Sunday June 18th at 1pm in Woodstock with a free benefit screening (suggested donation $10), followed by a panel discussion anchored by Jason West, the former mayor of New Paltz; Duffy Violante, producer and board member of Hudson Valley LGBTQ Community Center; and Ted Snowdon, producer. This screening is presented by the ENGAGE Film Series (read more on the series below) and sponsored by the Hudson Valley LGBTQ Center Board of Directors. Proceeds will benefit the Hudson Valley LGBTQ Community Center.

The inspiring story of the most successful civil rights movement of our time, THE FREEDOM TO MARRY follows Evan Wolfson (the man known as the architect of the movement) and civil rights attorney Mary Bonauto in their decades long battle to win marriage rights for LGBTQ couples. A powerful document of the long and difficult work that victory took, the film is a reminder that no triumph can be taken for granted.
