BGHV Weekend April 1stWell can we call a spade a spade or what!?  In shocking-to-some news, the always yummy Ricky Martin announced via his website this week that he’s gay.  Yeah, duh.  We’re proud of our boy, his babies and his tasty boyfriend.  We’re just shocked this came as news…

Fresh off our visit to the NYC GLBT Expo, several groups and businesses in the Hudson Valley supported the efforts of GLBT tourism in the area.  We’d like to invite you all to support them in return, so as promised last week, we’ve posted our “GLBT Must See” flier of premier gay-owned and -friendly Hudson Valley destinations.  Check them out, and be sure to tell them Big Gay Hudson Valley sent ya’.

We’ve also had the privilege recently of looping into Poughkeepsie’s Middle Main Revitalization effort.  This group of volunteers, residents and business owners from the local community are working together to celebrate the history of Po-Town’s historic Main Street while restoring it to the friendly, funky economic powerhouse it once was.  If you, like us, have thought out opening up a business, join them at their next happy hour (Weds. April 14th @ Hudson Valley Food Works) and learn more about their Middle Main Map, Partnership with Clearwater and CreekWeek events.  BGHV is getting involved – are you?

Tom Judson’s hit one-man show “Canned Ham” is making its last east coast showing this weekend.  Hudson’s own Trixie Starr & Tom took a pre-show shower to discuss the show – check ’em out.
