BGHV Weekend, August 27thWith the summer winding down, we’re into the last days of the Dutchess County Fair.  While sad, this means that the first local crops of apples will be here in no time – woo hoo!  The upcoming Labor Day weekend has plenty going on for our big gay Hudson Valley, so try and stay dry while enjoying this weekend’s goodies and look forward to a very full BGHV Weekend next week.

Friday August 28th

Dutchess County Fair – Last Weekend!, Rhinebeck, All Day
If you haven’t gotten your fill of fried dough, farm animals, and nausea-inducing rides you’d better get to stepping!  This is the annual regional treat’s last weekend, so fill up on cotton candy while you still can!

“Best Chest” Night @ Primetime, Highland, 10p
Come out and flash your pecs at Primetime’s “Best Chest” contest for this week’s installment of Filthy Fridays.  DJ John Martin is spinning.

Saturday August 29th

CIA Alliance Club Car Wash, Hyde Park, 11a to 3p
So long as they can get some good weather, the students of the CIA’s Alliance club will be hosting a car wash to raise funds for their Hudson Valley AIDS Walk Team.  $5 per car.  Flirting is free.

BBQ and Pie & Cake Auction, Gardiner, 4p to 7p
Gardiner, the fabulous hometown hamlet of gay-owned Kiss My Face cosmetics – will be hosting a fundraising picnic BBQ and Pie & Cake Auction to benefit it’s Public Library.  Tickets are $15 per person with all proceeds benefting the Gardiner Public Library.

AIDS Council of Northeastern New York Dinner, Hudson, 5:30p
The AIDS Council of Northeastern New York is sponsoring a free dinner for persons with HIV and their friends.  This dinner is a great opportunity for people in our area to meet other persons with HIV and learn about the AIDS Council.  Dinner is at the Christ Church Episcopal Church at 431 Union Street in Hudson, NY.  Contact Amy to RSVP at 518-828-3624

End of Summer Beach Party @ Barz, Nyack, 8p
Rockland county’s only gay night club celebrates the end of summer.  Join them in September as they celebrate their 15th anniversary.

Come pledge at Truman’s Nightclub in New Paltz.  Free entry with a college ID (free for everyone before 10p) with 2-for-1 drinks until midnight.

EGO Heroes Party @ Primetime, Highland, 10p
Get out your cape and superhero powers, kids.  Isis Vermouth hosts with special guest performer Monique Fontaine of Lucky Cheng’s Restaurant in NYC.  $7 @ the door for 21+, $12 @ the door for 18-21.

Sunday August 30th

Welcome Concert @ Vassar, Poughkeepsie, 8p
Vassar College is hosting a welcome concert for the community and new students with performances by Vassar’s music department faculty.  Free to the public.

Monday August 31st

Mid-Hudson Valley Transgender Association welcomes Dru LeVasseur, Kingston, 7p
The MHVTA will present Dru LeVasseur (from the Transgender Legal  Defense & Education Fund of NYC) to discuss issues of employment discrimination.  Hosted at the Hudson Valley LGBTQ Center, no charge.

Tuesday September 1st

Trixie’s Bingo Madness, Hudson, 7p to 9p
Trixie does it again!  Join Trixie and magic bingo ball spinner at (p.m.) wine bar in Hudson for a night of…you guessed it…bingo madness.

Get busy next Thursday night, September 3rd, as ARCS & The Hudson Valley Renegades “Go Gades & Fight AIDS“!  Tickets are $15 each and get you into the park with a free soda, hot dog, and baseball cap.  The team will donate $5 from each ticket sold to ARCS.  And how, we ask, do you put a price on the view of those boys in those uniforms?
