For those of you that haven’t heard yet – we’re getting married! In honor of the long-standing relationship between the city of Amsterdam and New York (reference the quadricentennial festivities), a campaign was created by the Dutch called I Do. I Amsterdam. Partnering with Marriage Equality New York, they set out with goal of selecting 5 couples – one partner from New York and one partner from Holland – to marry on August 1st, Holland’s Gay Pride.  Fast forward through an essay, phone conferences, a meet-and-greet and some time on an NYC Pride float (NY Times registration required), Stephan & Patrick will be heading to Holland to celebrate their lives together one month from today.

All this revelry being said, the impediments placed in the NY State Senate by our elected officials is getting us no closer to same-sex marriage in NY.  Please continue to contact your representatives in the Senate and let them know that you demand equal rights.
