Rhinebeck Theatre Society is excited to announce auditions for Henrik Ibsen’s A Doll’s House.

Location: The CENTER for Performing Arts at Rhinbeck

Performance Dates: February 9 – 22, 2018

Seeking: All roles open. All ethnicities encouraged to attend.

Nora Helmer (age 25-35): Mother of three, is living out the ideal of the 19th-century wife, has worked exceedingly hard to maintain the illusion, which unravels exquisitely at the end of the play.

Torvald Helmer (age 30-40): Nora’s husband, a newly promoted bank manager, well-intended but oppressive in his treatment of Nora.

Dr. Rank (age 30-45): a wealthy family friend. Terminally ill.

Kristine Linde (age 25-35): Nora’s old school friend, widowed, seeking employment from Torvald.

Nils Krogstad (age 30-45): an employee at Torvald’s bank, and the lender of a substantial sum of money to Nora.

Ivar (age 8-12): the Helmers’ eldest son

Bobby (age 6-9): the Helmers’ middle child

Emmy (age 5-7): the Helmers’ middle child

Anne Marie (age 40-60): the Helmer’s nanny

Helene (age 30-50): the Helmer’s maid

The Porter (age 20-60): delivers a Christmas tree to the Helmer household at the beginning of the play.

Prepare: Readings will be from the script. Those interested in Nora should look over the final scene of the play.

Bring: Please bring your personal schedule and be prepared to list your conflicts.
